Policy & Public Affairs Officer

Fixed Term to July 2009 (with a possible extension subject to funding)

Salary: £28,066- 29,980

LTCA are looking for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Officer to assist our Director of Policy and Public Affairs. The role will involve supporting LTCA and the NHS Centre for Involvement (NCI) in the development of national policy; to research review and summarise policy developments and public affairs opportunities; to advise on LTCA and NCI policy, influence and public affairs strategy. 

The ideal candidate will have:-

• experience of policy research and development at national or international level
• experience of supporting public affairs and/or lobbying activities
• an understanding of government health strategy and current issues in health or social care policy

Voluntary internships

LTCA runs a programme of internships for people wishing to volunteer for at least three months to develop their experience of policy and campaigns work in the health voluntary sector.

Policy Intern

We are currently looking for a Policy Intern to support the Policy Director in the development, management and communication of LTCA's policy, event and campaigns work.  More information about this role can be found here.  This role would be appropriate  for a graduate with a relevant degree or postgraduate degree.
