	Mike O'Donovan (Chair) Mike was formerly Chief Executive of the MS Society, prior to which he had a 30-year career in industry, holding managing director posts in the UK and overseas.
	Juliet Bouverie (Vice-chair) Initially a parliamentary lobbyist, Juliet spent the past 14 years working in the voluntary sector and has been Head of Planning and Policy at Macmillan Cancer Support since 1999.
	Peter Hutton (Vice-chair) Peter is an anaesthetist who looks after patients needing long-term respiratory support in the community. He was previously President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and Chair of the Academy of Royal Medical Colleges.
	Jonathan O'Shea (Treasurer) A qualified accountant and member of ACCA, Jonathan, previously Director of Finances and Administration at the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Finance Director at Independent Age. He currently works at St. John's Hospital.
	Sophie Edwards (Company Secretary) Sophie was formerly Chief Executive of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA) - the UK arthritis umbrella body - and secretary of the European arthritis user groups network. She currently works at Arthritis Care.
	Rachel Backshall Rachel was formerly Head of Corporate Fundraising for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and was a elected as a trustee of LTCA in 2007.
	Nic Holc-Thompson A principal quality engineer, Nic manages his own long-term condition. He is a trustee of Inspirability, which seeks to provide multi-disciplinary support to those with impairment.
	Robert Johnstone Robert has lifelong experience of living with rheumatoid arthritis is currently President of Arthritis and Rheumatism International, and has been active in lobbying in the European political arena.
	Ash Pandya Ash has a background in community pharmacy and was formerly National Commissioning Manager for NHS Direct.
	Douglas Smallwood Douglas is Chief Executive of Diabetes UK, and was elected as an LTCA trustee in 2007. He is also a Trustee of Centrepoint, the Charity for vulnerable young people.
	Jean Thompson MBE Formerly Principal Trainer for the NHS Expert Patients Programme, on the formation of the Expert Patients Programme Community Interest Company in 2006, Jean became Joint Managing Director, but has now retired.
