Member organisations

Organisations that wish to apply for membership of LTCA should be:

Committed
Organisations with a commitment to supporting LTCA's vision and mission.

Voluntary organisations
Registered charities and other organisations that operate on a charitable model, as a not-for-profit organisation or as a support group. Organisations established for the purpose of making a profit are excluded.

National or international
Organisations the work of which is in the main intended to benefit people across at least one of the four countries of the UK (England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland), or that conduct international work.

Related to long-term conditions
Organisations whose main purpose is related to one or more long-term conditions, defined as a physical or mental health condition or disability of prolonged duration that may affect an aspect of a person's life. This includes organisations with the aim of supporting carers of people with long-term conditions.

Service-user-led
Organisations that are run mainly by people with, or affected by, a long-term condition or conditions, or have the primary aim of meeting the stated needs of those people.

  • Electronic copies of LTCA's forthnightly newsletter 10 Things from LTCA
  • Briefings on major policy developments relevant to people with long-term conditions
  • Free attendance at LTCA events, workshops, and conferences
  • The ability to participate in LTCA's AGM, including having voting rights
  • A presence on LTCA's website with a link to your own website
  • A listing in LTCA's annual report
  • One free hard copy of LTCA publications and reports
  • Advice on, or provision of, speakers for events
